This idea is going to be about having a reference to original printing methodology and anything to do with type. Obviously the image will be very subtle as I want to be able to read the menu.
I think if I've decided to go with this idea, the images that I'm going to use are of the history of type and printing letterforms. They are going to be ideally of around the time that Cicero was operating (Historical images).
I could have some thing like this on the walls of my restaurant as well. So that when people are looking around, there would be examples of typographic images.
In some way, I think this make sense. Just because my restaurant is typographically themes, it doesn't really mean that my restaurant has to be filled with letters. The images are going to be about how type happened and printed. Having said that, I think I need to look for a restaurant that is a bit more contemporary and has got a lot of space.
I won't necessary try to over elaborate my menu. I'm just going for a clean, simple, legible and beautifully set typography. It would be more traditionally set.
