Colour is going to be one of the important factors in building up the identity of my restaurant therefore just like in choosing the appropriate typeface for my logo, I've also got to be careful when it comes to my restaurant's corporate colours. I don't want to get carried away with colours otherwise all the designs that I am going to produce for Cicero Restaurant are going to be a mess.
To keep consistency with my designs, these are just going to be the only colours that I am going to use.
Most European designs that I've seen are associated by red colour. So, inorder to reinforce the theme of my restaurant, I want to go with colour that will gives a very European feel to my restaurant and I think Pantone 209 would perfectly do the job.
Pantone 432 is more likely to be used as the colour for grids lines. I believe that choosing this colour will provide me with a sensible design as it wouldn't make grids appear really strong. In reality, there would only be there to support the concept of my restaurant and the main copy/text would always appear more important.
In terms of the colour of the text, I actually wouldn't want it to be far/different from the colour of the grids. And besides, I only want 3 colours because I want to go minimal with my design.I think having the copy in this colour wouldn't be a problem as it wouldn't grab the attention away from the red type page header.
These colours will be use through everything, such as table cloths, walls, doors etc. It is also possible that I'm gonna be using a combination of these colours when designing things in my restaurant. I'm not going to have too many otherwise I'm loosing the sense of corporate feel to the place.
